BOVET 1822 booth displays at the Salon de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH 2019 - Geneva)
For their booth in the SIHH trade show I proposed to Bovet 1822 to cast the hands of 8 of their craftsmen. Each of them was presenting a watch in one of the display cases. It was important to me to cast the hands of these craftsmen as they are dedicating their lives to these watches and are the ones that can show more tenderness towards these? On the other hand, recognizing their work, their talent and the beauty of the worker's hand seemed to me to be something symbolically important.

Body casting: Another way of understanding a portrait
We all have photos of the people we love. They remind us some important instants. But photo, even if it's a medium I love and that can sometimes be beautiful, often throws some sort of a filter on this past reality.

Our memory is another filter. And I'm often surprised that my most vivid memory is not always an image, it may be a smell, a voice, a gesture... One of my dearest memory is the smell of a lipstick ... not because of the lipstick itself, but because I can smell my mother through it.
This is the reason that brought me to casting. Our hands and the way we move them, the way we put them down, are perhaps our most personal characters. Through casting I'm trying to catch the emotion, the essence of the link between people. I want to make visible how unique is the link between these persons.
